Tyler is a 6-year-old boy in Grade one who has had a lot of challenges since contracting bacterial meningitis at 3 weeks old. The meningitis caused a brain insult and he was later diagnosed with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy which has severely delayed his fine and gross motor skills.

Tyler requires full-time assistance for all positioning and transfers and does not speak, or walk, sit or stand independently. He is a very intelligent little boy whose motivation and determination is inspirational to everyone around him.

We need a mode of transportation to take him out for walks, the park or events, and appointments and therapies so we are requesting funding for a portable wheelchair. This will give him the support and proper positioning that he needs and easily folds and is compact to put in our vehicle.
